Hey everyone! It's been a while but Team Seven Star will be back in action this Saturday in West Haven for KJN Ferraro's annual State Championship. First, the positives, the Team Seven Star competitors are looking stronger than ever. Technique is sharp, spirit and energy are high and they cannot wait to get out there and give it their best. Now for the negatives. The Team will not be competing with the numbers it is used to. The Team is essentially cut in half. Only 6 members will be representing the Dojang instead of the usual 11-13. Also, Team coach, Charles McManus has been sidelined for the weekend with a knee injury. While he will still be there to support his Team, he is disappointed he won't be leading by example this year. This will put a little extra pressure on the remaining members to bring home the hardware. However, 4 of the 5 are multiple State and National Champions and are well prepared for the job.
On our small elite Team we have:
Bryce - 3rd Gup
- 2-Time National Champion
- 4-Time State Champion
- 2011 World Champion
Keith - 3rd Gup
- 2-Time National Champion
- 2012 State Champion
Bianca - 4th Gup
- 2-Time State Champion
- 2012 National Champion
BJ - 5th Gup
- 2-Time National Champion
Mike - 6th Gup
- Although Mike has been successful at competitions, he is still searching for his first major tournament victory. He has been training hard everyday and I don't think there will be anybody at this tournament more hungry and prepared than Mike.
Jaden
- 2013 States will be Jaden's first competition. He has been training hard and with his enthusiasm and energy he will no doubt do a great job representing the School.
